The Biggest Bathroom Trends of 2017

We're over half way through the year, so we've rounded up the bathrom design and decor trends that seem to be here to stay!

Grey

We covered this in a recent blog post that you can read here and it seems that the trend for grey in home décor is not going anywhere! It's a contemporary shade that lends itself very well to the modern, chic bathroom design. Think shiny chrome fixtures, minimalist furnishing and futuristic glass shower enclosures. It's also a timeless colour, with a bit more character than a dull white bathroom suite but that isn't going to look dated in years to come.

Patterned Tiles

Bathroom tiles are a great way to bring some character into your bathroom décor and we've seen a big trend in Mediterranean-style patterened ones that are ideal for creating a feature wall in your bathroom, or to add some style to the bathroom floor. There's a wide range of choice out there, so it's easy to bring some unique , eclectic style to your bathroom space that is right on trend.

Rose Gold

There is a huge trend for rose gold in jewellery right now; well it has also extended to the bathroom! We are seeing a lot more designers using rose gold for fixtures and fittings in bathroom décor. This makes a really stylish alternative to the usual chrome or gold and is a fantastic way to make a big style statement in your bathroom.

Greenery

At the beginning of the year, Pantone announced that it's colour of the year for 2017 was 'Greenery', so it's hardly surprising we have seen a trend for incorporating it into bathroom design! Far from your classic avocado suite, greenery doesn't have to bring back terrible design memories! Try incorporating a little greenery into your bathroom in a more literal sense - succulents and other indoor plants such as ferns can quite literally breathe life back into a tired looking bathroom suite.

Minimalism

The trend for a clean, modern and sleek looking bathroom is continuing to be popular. Wall hung furnishings, glass shower enclosures and fashionable yet functional storage solutions to maximise on available space and reduce clutter are the way to go.
